The Village of Pleasant Prairie is holding a Public Involvement Meeting to discuss the proposed pavement marking improvements along 85th Street, from Green Bay Road to Cooper Road. The meeting will take place on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Village Hall Auditorium, located at 9915 39th Avenue, Pleasant Prairie, WI. Attendees are asked to enter through the lower-level entrance on the south side of the building.
The meeting will follow an open-house format. No formal presentation is scheduled. Attendees may arrive at any time during the meeting window to review project displays and speak directly with project staff about the proposed improvements.
The project seeks to address safety and traffic concerns along 85th Street, particularly issues related to vehicles passing on the right within existing bike lanes. Two pavement marking alternatives will be presented for public review and input:
- Option 1: Implementation of a continuous Two-Way Left-Turn Lane (TWLTL) along the entire corridor, with dedicated left-turn lanes at 57th, 60th, 63rd, and 65th Avenues.
Note: On-street parking would be removed. The bike lane would be maintained.
- Option 2: Installation of dedicated left-turn lanes at 56th, 57th, 60th, 63rd, and 65th Avenues.
Note: On-street parking would be removed near improved intersections. The bike lane would be maintained.
