AREA VETERANS AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS JOIN TOGETHER TO BRING "THE MOVING WALL" TO PLEASANT PRAIRIE, WISCONSIN
Area Veterans and community organizations are joining together to bring "The Moving Wall" to Prairie Springs Park in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin from September 12 through September 16, 2013.
The Moving Wall is the half-size replica of the Washington, D.C. Vietnam Veterans Memorial. It was conceived of and built by Vietnam Veterans as a remembrance and healing tool for all those people who may never have a chance to visit the Memorial in Washington, D.C.
The Moving Wall has been touring the country since 1984. It presents a great opportunity for people to pay tribute to the loss of lives in the Vietnam War and to honor our Vietnam Veterans. The Moving Wall is also a wonderful teaching tool. This event will be free and open to all who wish to visit. Access to the Moving Wall will be available on a 24-hour basis.
Bringing the Moving Wall to our community is a vast undertaking. The Veterans organizations are reaching out to the community for help in making the Moving Wall experience a success. Businesses and individuals willing to donate funds, time and talents are needed.
Anyone interested in offering support towards the Moving Wall experience is invited to contact the Moving Wall Committee via email at [email protected] or by mail at: KAVV, P.O. Box 12, Kenosha, WI 53141. More information about the Moving Wall's visit to Pleasant Prairie this September is also available at theMovingWall2013wi.org.
