Pleasant Prairie Historical Society Hosts Dublin School Fall Open House on Saturday, September 7, 2013
On December 13, 2012, the Dublin School, located at 3875 116th Street, became the home of the Pleasant Prairie Historical Society, the volunteer-based non-profit organization that incorporated in 2010. The Society is dedicated to collecting, preserving and exhibiting locally important archeological, historical and cultural materials and providing educational opportunities to promote an appreciation of Pleasant Prairie's history.
The Pleasant Prairie Historical Society will encourage the sharing of stories and oral history dialogs about family life and early, rural Pleasant Prairie and its schools at the Dublin School Fall Open House set for Saturday, September 7 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Open House will feature Dublin School tours, an old-fashioned picnic with games, and stories from the last Dublin School principal--Dr. Anthony Bisciglia. The community is encouraged to stop in during the day to share stories and bring or donate any photographs, collections or other memorabilia about their school days at Dublin School or about Pleasant Prairie's history.
