Saturday, October 26 Between 9:00 AM and Noon
Interested youth are invited to attend an informational open house for a new Fire & Rescue Explorers Post in Pleasant Prairie on Saturday, October 26, between 9:00 a.m. and noon. The open house will be held at Fire Station #2 at 8044 88th Avenue in Pleasant Prairie. A parent or guardian should accompany youth under the age of 18.
The program will provide an opportunity for high school and college aged youth to: learn about and gain first hand experience related to a career in Firefighting and Emergency Medicine; reinforce core skills such as leadership, teamwork, respect, and commitment; and be encouraged to live a lifetime of physical fitness and overall wellness. Active members of Pleasant Prairie Fire & Rescue will teach participants basic firefighting and first aid skills.
The program will meet on the first Monday of the month at 7:00 p.m., and drills will be held on the fourth Saturday of the month at 9:00 a.m. (dates/times are subject to change). Participants' paperwork will be completed at the open house. The cost for membership is $15 per year plus the cost of uniforms and activities.
