Preschool Students to Display Artwork at Southwest Library
Wednesday, November 20 between 6:30 and 7:00 p.m.
On Wednesday, November 20, preschool students from the Goldfish classroom at Preschool U will be displaying their artwork at the Southwest Library (7979 38th Avenue) between 6:30 and 7:00 p.m. The showing will also include story time and refreshments. All are invited to attend the viewing.
The four- and five-year old students observed Kandinsky's "Squares with Concentric Circles" painting with their teacher. They talked about the colors and shapes he used and how it made them feel. The children then made their own paintings using various media and brushes.
"We are so pleased to be able to share our preschoolers' artwork at the library," explained Carol Willke, Director of Recreation at Pleasant Prairie RecPlex. "The preschoolers are so engaging, and our staff is very proud of the works they've created!" Earlier this year, Preschool U students also painted decorative fire hydrants that were placed in Pleasant Prairie's new dog park. Preschool U is a youth program offered at Pleasant Prairie RecPlex www.RecPlexOnline.com.
