ALL INVITED TO HELP WITH EARTH DAY CLEANUP OF LAKE MICHIGAN PARKLANDS
Saturday, April 22 from 9:00 a.m. until Noon

All are invited to participate in an Earth Day cleanup of the Lake Michigan parklands in Pleasant Prairie between 9:00 a.m. and noon on Saturday, April 22. Those interested in participating are asked to meet in the parking lot of Prairie Shores Beach, located south of 107th Street along Lakeshore Drive.

The Village will provide garbage bags and latex gloves for volunteers. Volunteers may also bring their own work gloves and should dress for the weather and walking on sand. A representative for the Village will be available to sign for student volunteer hours at the conclusion of the event.

Founded as a grassroots movement by former Wisconsinite and U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson, Earth Day was first observed on April 22, 1970. Earth Day is now observed worldwide with more than one billion people participating in Earth Day events and activities each year to show concern and support for the environment.

More information regarding Earth Day can be found at http://www.earthday.org, https://en.wikipedia.org, or by conducting an online search for Earth Day. The Village would like to thank all those who participate in activities to help keep our natural areas and neighborhoods looking clean and beautiful. Your help goes a long way to making our community a special place to live.
