POLICE SEEKING 20-YEAR-OLD ARMED MAN IN RELATION TO FRAUD INCIDENT AND FOR PROBATION AND PAROLE WARRANTS

On Wednesday, February 15 at 4:47 p.m., Pleasant Prairie Police received a call relating to an incident of fraud that had been reported earlier in the day. The callers indicated that their grandson, 20-year-old Edward Vincent Becs, had allegedly been involved in the theft of $4,600.00 from the couple through fraudulent credit card transactions.

While officers were in route to the call in the 11800 block of 28th Avenue, they were notified that Becs had fled the home with a back pack and a gun case. Statements from family members led officers to believe that Becs was armed and on foot in the area. Officers were also advised that Becs had made statements threatening suicide as opposed to returning to prison.

Pleasant Prairie Police, with the assistance of Kenosha Joint Services, made a Reverse 9-1-1 call to advise people living in the area that they would be conducting a search for Becs. An area around the home was secured, and officers began the search. Personnel from the Wisconsin State Patrol and the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department assisted the Pleasant Prairie Police Department and K-9 team with the search.

During the search, officers received information that Becs may have been picked up from the area and transported to the Village of Mt. Pleasant. Mt. Pleasant authorities were contacted and advised of Becs criminal history and recent actions. A follow-up Reverse 9-1-1 call was made to notify residents that the search had ended for the evening. At the time of this release, Becs is still at large. Police are seeking Becs regarding the Pleasant Prairie incident. Becs is also wanted on probation and parole warrants.

Anyone with information related to this incident or about Becs whereabouts is asked to contact the Pleasant Prairie Police Department at 262.694.7353 or Kenosha Area Crime Stoppers at 262-656-7333.
