Kenosha Man Arrested After Report of a Battery
Posted on 06/13/2017

On June 12, 2017 at 6:37 p.m., Pleasant Prairie Police were called to the Prairie Ridge Senior Campus at 7900 94th Avenue. A caller reported that a woman was being battered by a man and the man was last seen running into the campus parking lot.

Upon arrival, officers approached the suspect, who then began running. Officers commanded the suspect, 33-year-old Brian J. Palmer of Kenosha, to stop. Palmer refused, causing the officer to draw and use a Taser. The deployment of the Taser was ineffective. Palmer continued to flee on foot towards the St. Catherine's Hospital, where police were able to take him into custody.

Investigating officers located a 40-year-old female who was visiting a relative at the senior campus. She stated that Palmer had confronted her in an elevator and struck her in the head and face and attempted to strangle her. Police believe that the attack was an isolated incident and that Palmer was acting alone and had no connection to the senior campus.

Due to medical issues, Palmer was held at St. Catherine's Hospital overnight. He was later taken into custody for false imprisonment, burglary, battery, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, and two counts of strangulation. He is currently being held at the Kenosha County Jail.

Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to contact the Pleasant Prairie Police Department at 262.694.7353 or Kenosha Area Crime Stoppers at 262-656-7333. Archived copies of this and other Pleasant Prairie Police Department news releases are available by clicking here.
