Organized Retail Theft

Organized Retail Theft
Posted on 07/16/2019
On July 1, 2019, ten individuals entered the North Face store located at 11601 108th Street and, in a planned act, stole a large quantity of clothing items totaling over $30,000 worth of merchandise. Nine of the ten suspects fled the store with arms filled with clothing items. All of the suspects then fled the area in three separate vehicles. This incident garnered wide media interest and broadcasted on media outlets across the country.

Since July 1, 2019, Pleasant Prairie Detectives have been working with numerous law enforcement agencies who have experienced similar criminal acts in their jurisdictions. Through cooperative efforts with the Chicago Police Department, arrest warrants were obtained on six individuals from Chicago. At this point, two of those parties have been taken into custody by Chicago authorities and are awaiting court proceedings.

Those two parties are: Bernard Stratton, 28-years-old, a Chicago resident; and Jerrod C. Brim, 25-years-old, also a Chicago resident. Both of these parties were arrested on felony warrants issued by the Kenosha County District Attorney’s Office for Intentional Retail Theft in access of $10,000 and for being a Party to a Crime – Retail Theft in access of $10,000 as repeat offenders. All charges are related to the retail theft at the Pleasant Prairie North Face store.

The arrests and actions made from this case is a result of dedicated police work, good cooperation with the community, and our law enforcement partners, especially the Chicago Police Department.
