Police Continue Manhunt

  At 1:12 p.m. today, a Pleasant Prairie police officer attempted to stop a vehicle on 39th Avenue near 104th Street. The vehicle failed to stop for the officer and fled south bound at a high speed rate. The fleeing vehicle reached a speed of 80 MPH before striking two other occupied vehicles in the 11700 block of 39th Avenue. 

The suspect vehicle then lost control and went into a ditch. The suspect, a black male, between 20 to 25 years of age, fled on foot into the nearby neighborhoods. Officers setup a perimeter and utilized a K-9 from Pleasant Prairie Police department as well as a K-9 from Kenosha County Sheriff’s department. Narcotics and a handgun were located in the suspect’s vehicle. 

Notifications of the police operation were sent out via Facebook, Twitter and Nixle as well as the Kenosha County Reverse 911 program. Neighbors were advised of the search, to remain vigilant and to contact the Pleasant Prairie Police regarding any reports of suspicious activity.

As of 3:00 p.m., squads were being released from the area. Suspect is not in custody at this time and is believed to have fled the area.
