On Thursday, July 18, the public is invited to a second Public Information Meeting related to the construction of a Park and Ride Lot inside Prairie Springs Park. The Village of Pleasant Prairie, Kenosha County, and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation are cooperating on the project.
During the open-house style meeting, residents can review conceptual design alternatives for the project that were developed after receiving input at the first public meeting. The meeting will also provide residents an opportunity to share input on their preferred alternative.
The proposed park and ride lot will include approximately 290 parking spaces, two pedestrian bridges over a stream, two street connections to Terwall Terrace, a bus stop, provisions for a future Amtrak platform, as well as stormwater retention pond and stream restoration enhancements. The project will also provide adjacent sites for commercial development. Construction is tentatively scheduled for 2014.
The open-house style meeting will be held from 4:15 p.m. until 5:45 p.m. on Thursday, July 18 at the Wruck Beach Pavilion inside Prairie Springs Park (Wruck Pavilion, Park Drive, Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin) on the northwest side of Lake Andrea.
