Alcohol Beverage License

Application for a license to sell alcohol beverages must be filed with the Clerk’s office at least 15 days before submission to the Village Board.  Publication in the local newspaper is required.  Fire, Community Development and Building Inspections Departments conducts/approves all facility inspections.  The Pleasant Prairie Police Department conducts background check on agent/officers.  License Fee.  Licenses are issued yearly from July 1 – June 30. 

If the license is granted by the Village Board, all fees and publication costs must be paid before actual issuance of license.  No license shall be issued if the license premise has any unpaid property taxes, personal property taxes, assessments, special assessments, utility charges or other financial claims of the Village.

New Legislation for Class "B", "Class B" and/or "Class C" wine licensees!

Outdoor Extension:  For establishments with existing outdoor space, effective June 26, 2023, Village Board enacted Ordinance #23-24 and #23-25 creating the definition of an "Outdoor Extension" and an application process.  It will be required that all applicants applying for an initial or renewing an Alcohol Beverage License will be required to also apply for an Outdoor Extension License enabling the use of outdoor space. 

Beer Garden:  Effective June 26, 2023, Village Board enacted Ordinance #23-24 and #23-25 creating the definition of a “Beer Garden” and an application process. For applicants applying for an initial or renewing an Alcohol Beverage License will be required to also apply for a Beer Garden License enabling the operation of such entity.

Applications can be found under Applications/Forms below and must be included with the submission of AT-106 Original Alcohol Beverage License Application or AT-115 Renewal Alcohol Beverage License Application.

New License Requirements

  • AT-106 – Original Alcohol Beverage License Application
  • AT-103 - Alcohol Beverage License Application Supplemental Questionnaire for each person involved in applicant business
  • AT-104 – Schedule for Appointment of Agent
  • Pleasant Prairie Police Department Questionnaire
  • Wisconsin Responsible Beverage Server Training Certificate (Department of Revenue approved) issued within the last two (2) years for Agent
  • If applicable, Beer Garden License Application/Outdoor Extension License Application

Renewal License Requirements

  • AT-115 – Renewal Alcohol Beverage License Application
  • AT-103 - Alcohol Beverage License Application Supplemental Questionnaire for each person involved in applicant business
  • Pleasant Prairie Police Department Questionnaire
  • If applicable, Beer Garden License Application/Outdoor Extension License Application

NOTE:  If there is a new agent, at time of renewal, be sure to include new agent form AT-104.

Agent Change

Immediately notify the municipal clerk in writing of the appointment of new agent and the reason for cancellation of the previous agent.  The newly appointed agent may act in that capacity until approved or disapproved. Upon Village Board approval, the Clerk’s office must amend the license to reflect the change of agent.  There is a $10.00 fee for an agent change. The following must complete and submit to the Clerk’s office:

  • AT-200 –Appointment of Successor Agent - Retail Licenses
  • AT-103 - Alcohol Beverage License Application Supplemental Questionnaire for each person involved in applicant business
  • Pleasant Prairie Police Department Questionnaire
  • Wisconsin Responsible Beverage Server Training Certificate (Department of Revenue approved) issued within the last two (2) years for Agent
