Nixle

When conditions arise in Pleasant Prairie create the need for a public safety response, staff do their best to notify residents of protective or subsequent actions they should take, such as avoiding or evacuating an area or taking shelter.

Pleasant Prairie uses a service called Nixle that allows public safety officials to send text messages and emails to subscribers in the event of a public safety emergency.

Sign-up to receive emergency text messages from Pleasant Prairie on your smart phone. Text “53158” on your smartphone to 888777 to register. Don’t forget to reply “YES” to Nixle’s text in order to begin receiving emergency messages.

The Village is only be able to send emergency (red) alert notifications via text message. These types of notifications are saved for emergency circumstances only (e.g. shelter in place, natural disasters).

Sign-up to receive email messages (non-emergency) from Pleasant Prairie register to become a subscriber at Nixle.com and choose the resident option.

All other messages (non-emergency) are sent via email such as snow emergencies and road closures.
