It’s the Village’s goal to provide an accessible interconnected network of highways, streets, bicycle and pedestrian trails in order to present a safe, affordable, and efficient transportation system that meets the needs of multiple users.

Cars and Trucks

The Village is made up of major roadways such as Interstate 94 and Kenosha County highways as well as local municipal roadways. The Village takes great care in the planning of developments to make sure that the flow of traffic is effective and for this reason drive times are low, giving you the ability to reach most destinations within ten minutes. The Village has established truck routes for heavy equipment and vehicles to accommodate corporations and businesses.

Planes and Trains

If you are a business traveler or commuter you will benefit from easy access to Interstate 94 and from close proximity to regional airports in Kenosha as well as Milwaukee Mitchell Airport and Chicago Ohare Airport. Boarding a Metra Train to Chicago and the Northern Illinois suburbs is another convenient mode of transportation for commuters or for those looking to take in arts and cultural opportunities.

Bicycle and Pedestrian Trails

Throughout the Village of Pleasant Prairie there are well-marked bicycle lanes for those commuting for work or just enjoying a leisurely ride. As these lanes are incorporated into more areas of the Village, it is a priority to educate residents about safe driving and the importance of sharing the road with cyclists. The Village works to establish and maintain a safe, comprehensive and integrated bicycle and pedestrian trail network.

Bus Routes
There are bus routes that operate to St. Catherine’s Hospital and the Shoppes at Prairie Ridge as well as the LakeView Corporate Park. Stops for regional bus service on Greyhound and the Airport Express routes are just minutes away from the Village. Specialized transportation services also exist for private and public organizations, one example of this is that the Pleasant Prairie RecPlex provides transportation for youth to and from designated schools for childcare.
