Village Ordinance §234-3 F Noxious Weeds:
All noxious weeds and other rank growth of vegetation. All weeds and grass shall be
kept cut to a height not to exceed one foot. The Village may cause all weeds and grass
to be cut and removed and brush to be removed and the cost thereof charged to the
property under § 66.0627, Wis. Stats.
Public Works Department Weed Complaint Procedure:
-Complaint Received: Resident or Code Enforcement Officer must complete a Weed
Complaint Form which can be found online at our website pleasantprairiewi.gov (Go to
How Do I> Report > Weed Complaint). The property shall be identified and highlighted
on a map including the portion of the property in violation of said ordinance and
submitted with the Weed Complaint Form or the request will not be accepted.

-1st Inspection: Code Enforcement Officer inspects the property to determine if it
violates Village Ordinance.
-Door Hanger Delivered/Letter mailed: If in violation, a door hanger is left at the
property at the time of the first inspection and a letter is mailed to the property owner
and occupant (in case owner does not live at property) notifying them that they are in
violation of Village Ordinance §234-3 F – Noxious Weeds, if they do not mow the
property within seven calendar days, the Public Works Department will have the
property mowed and the owner will be charged for costs, plus a $75.00 administrative
fee.
-2nd Inspection: At the end of seven days, the Code Enforcement Officer re-inspects
the property. If it has not been mowed, the Village issues an order to the contractor to
cut the property. If the property has been mowed, the Service Request and Inspection
will then be closed.
-Property Mowed: Contractor mows property for properties that have failed the 2nd
inspection. Public Works staff will create bill.
