The photo to the right (1922) was donated to the Society by Garrett and
Viola Dreger of Pleasant Prairie. Miss Herrmann (center top row) was
Viola’s mother and a teacher at the Dublin School.
The Dublin
School is proposed to be converted into a local history museum to store,
exhibit and educate the community about Pleasant Prairie. The Society
is looking to reminisce by recreating some new, old-fashioned fun with a
community-wide picnic. Funds raised during the picnic will support the
Dublin School renovation project.
The Dublin School Picnic
Fundraiser will take place on Saturday, September 9 from 10:00 a.m.
until 4:00 p.m. The picnic fundraiser will take place at Halter
Wildlife, 9626 113th Street (just west of Highway H off of 113th Street)
in Pleasant Prairie.
Activities will include:
• Live music
• Kid’s activities (hay wagon rides, gunny sack races, and carnival games)
• Bingo and raffles
• Live auction of homemade pies and baked goods
• Police K9 and Fire & Rescue demonstrations
• Car show
• Food and beverages for children and adults
• Quilting displays
• Informational booths
