VILLAGE THANKS FIRE CHIEF FOR SERVICE UPON RETIREMENT
On May 15,
the Village Board presented retiring Chief of Fire & Rescue Doug
McElmury with a Resolution of Appreciation and Recognition. Chief
McElmury began his career in 1981 and joined Pleasant Prairie Fire &
Rescue in March of 1989.
McElmury, who is highly regarded by
his peers, has accumulated extensive experience in multiple rescue
disciplines and modern fire science throughout his career and has
concurrently taught fire science courses at Gateway Technical College
for more than 30 years. Village President John P. Steinbrink commented,
“the Village of Pleasant Prairie and surrounding communities have been
made a safer place to live, work and play thanks to the contributions of
Chief Douglas J. McElmury.”
Upon his retirement, the Village
wishes to extend our sincere gratitude to Doug McElmury for his overall
contributions to the safety and quality of life that residents have
enjoyed throughout the Village and our entire community.
