Pleasant Prairie teen, Miss Kiersten Gonzales recently became Miss Wisconsin's Outstanding Teen for 2009. Miss Gonzales competed in the 2009 Miss Wisconsin's Outstanding Teen Pageant and was originally named First Runner Up in June of this year. When the original winner of the 2009 Miss Wisconsin's Outstanding Teen Pageant, Jeanette Morelan, relinquished her crown to accept a national title as Miss America's Outstanding Teen 2010, Gonzales assumed the title and duties of Miss Wisconsin's Outstanding Teen 2009.
Miss Gonzales is a student at Tremper High School and a member of the National Honor Society. She has participated in a total of three pageants, her first being Miss Prairie Family Days in 2007. Kiersten won the title, Miss Prairie Family Days 2007. Shortly after, she announced her intention to pursue a title in the Miss Wisconsin's Outstanding Teen Pageant. Kiersten has also participated in the Miss Milwaukee Outstanding Teen Pageant and won the title Miss Milwaukee Outstanding Teen 2009.
“The Village of Pleasant Prairie is proud that a young member of our community has been crowned Miss Wisconsin's Outstanding Teen,” commented Village President John Steinbrink Sr. “Kiersten has demonstrated her commitment to the community along with many other fine qualities, and we are proud to congratulate her in this accomplishment.” Kiersten's platform for the Miss Wisconsin's Teen Pageant was “Girl Bullying,” and her talent was a vocal performance.
