COMMUNITY INVITED TO DEDICATION CEREMONY FOR DONALD HACKBARTH TRAIL
FRIDAY, MAY 20 AT 5:00 PM INSIDE PRAIRIE SPRINGS PARK
The community is invited to attend a dedication ceremony and ribbon cutting for the Donald Hackbarth Trail on Friday, May 20 at 5:00 p.m. The trailhead is located inside Prairie Springs Park (9900 Terwall Terrace), north of the Donald Wruck Beach Pavilion.
On February 15, the Village Board named the multi-use trail that runs between the northwest corner of Prairie Springs Park and County Highway C the Donald Hackbarth Trail. Donald Hackbarth served as the Pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Pleasant Prairie over the past 30 years. Pastor Hackbarth also served our community as a member of the Park Commission, as Chaplain of the Fire & Rescue Department, and as a member of the Plan Commission over the past 30 years.
Village Administrator Michael Pollocoff commented, "Don's work has touched the lives of residents in more ways than most will ever realize. Whether his counsel to rescue personnel following the tragedies they've witnessed or his work to protect and preserve natural open spaces in the Village for all to enjoy, we cannot thank Don Hackbarth enough for his many years of service and his drive to make Pleasant Prairie a better place for all."
