Thank you to all who joined us at RecPlex on October 1 to celebrate our tenth year of service to the community. Over the years, the facility has grown at a consistent pace and has become an indispensable resource to many seeking health, wellness and family-related recreational services. Built on land that was formerly mined for gravel, the facility has been constructed and expanded mainly through large community donations and is supported with user fees, sponsorships, and additional non-property tax income sources. WisPark, the developer of the surrounding LakeView Corporate Park, donated $4 million for the initial construction of the facility. The most recent donation of $8 million received from Uline, Inc., has paid for the construction of a new 50-meter competition pool, which has already started bolstering local tourism by drawing thousands of visitors into the community.
