PLEASE BE AWARE - VOTER PARTICIPATION CENTER MAILINGS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH THE VILLAGE OF PLEASANT PRAIRIE

Recently, several residents have contacted the Village Clerk regarding a mailing they received from the Voter Participation Center, a non-government, nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization based in Washington, DC. The letter encourages the recipient to register to vote. The letter states, "According to the Village of Pleasant Prairie municipal database..."

Please be aware that the Village of Pleasant Prairie is not affiliated with this organization and did not directly provide this organization information from our municipal database. A nationally circulated article dating back to July of 2012 indicated that the mailing lists are generated from commercially collected information, and that these mailings have been sent in the names of pets and the deceased.
