MEMORIAL TO EMILY ROSE KIDWELL
A bench dedication ceremony was held in mid-December in memory of Ms. Emily Rose Kidwell. Emily, a Pleasant Prairie employee, cared for youth and adults with special needs in the Discovery program at RecPlex prior to her death. Family, friends and coworkers gathered to honor Emily and the special care she brought to her work during the ceremony. Donations were collected for the bench, which was purchased in "honor of Ms. Emily and all of the hard work, dedication, and heart she put into working with the youth and adults in the Discovery Program..."

OUTSTANDING VOLUNTEERISM
During the same ceremony, a second bench was dedicated in recognition of Jerry and Kay Martyniak of Pleasant Prairie "for outstanding volunteerism and commitment to quality of life for everyone." The Martyniaks have volunteered countless hours to benefit the programs at RecPlex for special needs youth and adults. Both benches overlook a special playground area recently installed for use by the youth and adults in the Discovery Program.
