On December 16, 2024, the Village of Pleasant Prairie Plan Commission approved the Preliminary Site and Operational Plans for the proposed expansion of the Eli Lilly and Company facility located at 10300 128th Avenue in the Prairie Highlands Corporate Park. This approval allows for site grading, early footing and foundation, and underground utility work to commence as part of the facility's planned additions.
The project includes a three-story office and manufacturing addition of approximately 49,221 square feet on the west side of the building and a single-story warehouse addition of approximately 14,098 square feet on the north side, featuring four new dock doors. These additions will complement the facility’s modern design, utilizing materials consistent with the current building.
The approved plans also include expanded parking, adding 102 spaces for a total of 207 spaces, six of which are designated as accessible. Over 65% of the site will remain open space, aligning with Village development standards.
Eli Lilly and Company acquired the property from Nexus Pharmaceuticals in April 2024 and continues to operate it as a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. The expansion will create additional office, warehouse, and manufacturing space to support the company’s growth. Once completed, the project will enable increased staffing levels, with 133 employees initially working two shifts and opportunities for future workforce expansion.
Construction is expected to begin in December 2024, with the additions projected to be completed by March 2026.
