On Saturday, December 6, the Pleasant Prairie Professional Police Association hosted their annual "SHOP WITH A COP/FIREFIGHTER." This year's event was held at Wal-Mart and provided needy and deserving children from area elementary schools with a December holiday shopping trip to purchase gifts for themselves or family members.

Each child was accompanied by a uniformed Pleasant Prairie police officer or firefighter who helped them with their shopping. This is a unique experience for the children and helps to foster a positive relationship between the children and public safety officials.

The event is funded by the Police Association, donations from area businesses and from local residents who have heard about the program. Parents of the children that were chosen also received a gift card to a local grocery store. The Village of Pleasant Prairie would like to sincerely thank all those who have supported the program this year and in years past.
