In late January, Coleman Cable, Inc. of Waukegan, Illinois announced that it will establish a new distribution facility in Pleasant Prairie. Coleman Cable will lease roughly 502,000 square feet on a 28-acre parcel in LakeView Corporate Park. The location will be used to warehouse the company's entire line of wire and cable products. Coleman Cable, Inc. (NASDAQ: CCIX) is a manufacturer of wire and cable products for the automotive, electrical, electronics, security, sound and telecommunications industries.

Coleman Cable will customize the LakeView XI building with 490,000 square feet of warehouse space and 12,000 square feet of office space. The company plans to have 250,000 square feet up and running by April 1, 2008. They plan to occupy the entire 502,000 square feet by October of 2008. Once the facility is fully operational, the location will employ 75 full-time positions, 50 positions on first shift and 25 on second.

The Pleasant Prairie location will enable Coleman Cable to consolidate current distribution facilities in Gurnee, Waukegan and Indianapolis. Coleman Cable's plan calls for monitored, gated access to their site. They expect truck traffic of approximately 25 inbound and outbound trucks per day. At present, the company does not have plans for manufacturing at the Pleasant Prairie facility.
