Safety Day in the Prairie 2020 Canceled
Posted on 09/06/2020
The 2020 Safety Day in the Prairie has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It’s with a heavy heart that we must cancel the 2020 Safety Day,” said Craig Roepke, Fire Chief. “As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, it’s become clear that we need to make tough choices in the face of these unprecedented circumstances. Our priority is the Pleasant Prairie community’s health and safety, including our staff, supporters, and volunteers.”

In 2019, Safety Day brought together approximately 600 community members to experience how Police, Fire, and Public Works provide the critical services needed to ensure a safe environment for those who live, work, and visit the Village. Other area agencies such as the Pleasant Prairie Historical Society, Froedtert & Aurora hospitals, and the ever-popular Flight for Life Helicopter, also provided education about their respective community-related efforts. To see a recap of the 2019 Safety Day created by Village Communication staff, visit and subscribe to the Village YouTube channel at YouTube.com/PLPrairie.

Safety Day’s mission is to bring the community out and provide an opportunity to educate and inform residents on public safety agencies. The public safety professionals in the area are looking forward to healthier times and having a chance to interact with the community.

The next Safety Day is being planned for late 2021. Stay updated on ongoing events and operations by following the Village, Police & Fire department’s Facebook pages.
