Prevention and Preparedness

Practicing steps to prevent crime or emergency situations is the best approach, such as joining a neighborhood watch or attending Safety Day annually to learn fire prevention tips. There may be times when you are unable to prevent a disaster or hazard from occurring. In these situations you should practice preparedness. Ready.gov is a helpful site that you and your family may want to review in order to learn what to do before, during and after a number of emergency situations.

Report an Issue

Nixle Emergency Alerts

When conditions arise in Pleasant Prairie create the need for a public safety response, staff does its best to notify residents of protective or subsequent actions they should take, such as avoiding or evacuating an area or taking shelter.

Pleasant Prairie uses a service called Nixle that allows public safety officials to send text messages and emails to subscribers in the event of a public safety emergency.
