Veterans Memorial
Construction of the Village of Pleasant Prairie Veterans Memorial began
in June of 2007 and concluded with a dedication ceremony on August 5,
2007. The memorial was created as a tribute to the men and women of our
armed forces who serve, past and present. The site for the memorial is
directly to the east of the ball field pavilion on the south side of
Prairie Springs Park (adjacent to Hwy 165).
The design of the
memorial offers visitors a seating area surrounding a landscaped display
of plaques representing each branch of the service, watched over by a
bank of flags. Benches and bricks engraved with individual or family
names in tribute to those who sacrificed and served in our country’s
armed forces encircle the memorial. In 2009, a Korean War Memorial was
installed on the site. The memorial is the location for the Village’s
annual Veterans Day Ceremony. The ceremonies are a moving tribute to our
veterans, during which newly installed bricks and benches are
dedicated.
Memorial bricks and benches are available to those
wishing to honor our service men and women. Bricks and benches may be
engraved with the names of individuals, families or businesses. The
names on the bricks need not only be those of service men and women, but
anyone who wishes to honor and thank our service people for their years
of service and sacrifice. Order forms for both the bricks and benches
are available below in PDF format.*
The 2025 Village of Pleasant Prairie Veterans Day Ceremony will be held on Sunday, November 9th, at 1:30 p.m.
*Please note that in order to be included in the Veterans Day Ceremony
on Sunday, November 9, 2025, memorial bricks and benches must be ordered
by September 2, 2025.
