In response to recommendations from the Village attorney, the Village of Pleasant Prairie has updated it's Firearms and Weapons ordinance to facilitate its enforcement and the prosecution of violations. The Village Board approved the amended ordinance at a Monday, June 18 Village Board meeting.
The changes to the code simply update an outdated code to reflect present day situations. They help to clarify the definitions of an air gun (or BB gun), dart gun, pellet gun, and paintball gun. The updates also help clarify exceptions to the ordinance. The amended code also refers to hunting regulations pursuant to Wisconsin State Statutes, Chapter 29 and to permits and licenses issued by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
