During a September 2 Village Board meeting, members of the Pleasant Prairie Fire & Rescue Department presented a check for $10,018.08 to thirteen-year old Cyrus Procarione, Wisconsin's Goodwill Ambassador for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) and a Pleasant Prairie resident. The funds were raised by Pleasant Prairie firefighters during the Labor Day weekend Fill-the-Boot campaign. Firefighters collected donations for the MDA at two Village locations on August 31.

Fill-the-Boot is an annual tradition for firefighters across the country. The International Association of Firefighters has been a national sponsor of the MDA since 1954. More information about the relationship is available on the MDA website at www.mda.org under the Ross Report. Pleasant Prairie has plans to "Fill-the-Boot" again next year over Labor Day weekend.
