On Sunday, November 9, the Village of Pleasant Prairie held a Veterans Day Ceremony to pay special tribute to America's veterans. The ceremony was held at the Veterans Memorial inside Prairie Springs Park. The memorial is located on the south side of the park near the Veterans Ball Field pavilion.
"The Village is humbled by the service our Nation's veterans have provided to protect our freedom and way of life. It is an honor to recognize all American veterans through this somber and celebratory presentation," commented John Steinbrink, Jr., Superintendent of Public Works for the Village. During the ceremony, names for all who have been honored or memorialized with an engraved brick or bench at the memorial in 2008 were recognized.
Orders for memorial bricks and benches are taken year-round. Bricks and benches are dedicated annually as part of the Veterans Day Ceremony. More information regarding dedication of a brick or bench is available by clicking here or by calling 262/925-6765. The Veterans Memorial is open to the public year round.
