Thank you to those who joined us for the public meeting related to roundabouts on Highway 165.
A Public Informational Meeting was held on Thursday, June 11 to present roadway and roundabout improvements proposed on State Highway 165. The meeting was conducted by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, along with their consultants, Kapur & Associates, Inc. Roundabouts have been planned for the intersections at State Highway 165 and County Highways EZ and ML.
"Evaluation of traffic on Highway 165 has been ongoing for many years now," commented Mike Spence, Village Engineer for Pleasant Prairie. "The need for updates was confirmed through a State Department of Transportation study that concluded in 2007." The study evaluated a 3.5-mile section of 165, between Highways 31 and 32. It looked at the impacts of reconstructing the road to "improve traffic flow and safety."
The public was invited to attend the open-house style meeting to learn more about the proposed improvements. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation and consultant staff were on hand to answer questions related to the project. Copies of the plans shared during the meeting are available in the PDF below.
