Riley Construction Wins Award for Work on Village Project
In September, Midwest Construction Magazine announced the winners of the Best of 2010 awards program. The Village Board and staff would like to congratulate Riley Construction for receiving a Best of 2010 Award of Merit in the Best Sports/Recreation Project category for their efforts on the RecPlex Aqua Arena.
The project was recognized as a Best of 2010 based on several challenging aspects, including: the dewatering and stabilization of the site, given its proximity to Lake Andrea; construction over a former gravel pit; implementation of an aggressive safety program that resulted in no incidents or lost-time injuries; and meeting USA Swimming standards that have made the RecPlex Aqua Arena only the second certified Olympic-size competition pool in the State. The Village congratulates Riley Construction and thanks them for a job well done.
