
At approximately 9:30 a.m. on Friday, February 5, flames were observed within a dust collection area at the We Energies Power Plant in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. The flames were extinguished by the power plant's internal fire suppression system. Flames were extinguished prior to the arrival of the Pleasant Prairie Fire & Rescue department. Upon arrival, the Fire & Rescue department completed a review of the area to confirm that the fire was extinguished by the suppression system and that it had not spread to any other area.
There were no injuries and no evacuation was conducted. WE Energies reports that there was no interruption in operation at the plant. Upon confirming that the flames were extinguished and that they had not spread to any other area, Fire & Rescue crews returned to their station.
