On Monday, March 15, the Village Board reviewed five proposals for Liability and Property Insurance presented by four separate insurance companies.
Recent handling of claims related to the June 19, 2009 storms prompted board members to determine that the lowest bid ($359,580) presented by Liberty Mutual, the Village's former provider, should be rejected. Although Liberty Mutual's bid was the lowest, the determination was made, based on recent service, that their bid was not the lowest responsible bid. Board members instead opted to select the next lowest bid ($384,187), deemed responsible, which was submitted by the League of Wisconsin Municipalities.
