RecPlex in the Village of Pleasant Prairie is pleased to announce the 2010 lineup of specialty summer camps for kids. Age appropriate themes for specialty camps this summer will include horseback riding, fishing, crazy science, basketball, baseball/softball, tumbling, spa, cheerleading and dance. Specialty camps are offered independently or in conjunction with traditional day-camp services. Additional camps include figure skating, hockey and an adaptive camp for children with special needs.
RecPlex in Pleasant Prairie has been offering summer camp for eight years and has been offering specialty camps for the past four. "The specialty camps have been very well received by families. Parents love the idea that their kids are engaged and having fun during the day," commented Anne Hamby, Youth and Family Services Director for Pleasant Prairie. "And kids love the cool things they get to work on." RecPlex Summer Camp offers additional activities to engage young campers, including: indoor and outdoor swimming, ice skating, engaging field trips, boating, crafts, indoor and outdoor games, time at the Lake Andrea beach and more. Children, along with their camp counselors, make use of the entire RecPlex and Prairie Springs Park complex.
