In late December of 2008, John and Dorothy Ingram, Pleasant Prairie residents, donated 30.73 acres of land for the creation of a new Village Park. During 2009, planning for the park began, and a consultant was selected to incorporate John and Dorothy Ingram's vision and public feedback into a conceptual plan for the park. After review by the Village Park and Plan Commissions, a final version of the plan was approved by the Village Board during a May 17 meeting.

WORK AT THE SITE IS UNDERWAY
Work within Phase I (shown in the image above) has recently started. During the Summer of 2010, work on the new park will include:
• private roadway construction,
• grading on the southern half of the Phase I area, and
• excavation of a fishing pond.

Pulverized asphalt, or millings, from other paving projects in the Village will be used to form the base for the new roadway. Further construction activities will take place as funding becomes available. Future plans call for the: completion of the fishing pond and entry drive; creation of parking lots and a trail system; construction of a playground area, dog run, terraced amphitheater, plaza shelter and rest rooms; future creation of connecting points to other neighborhoods; and the installation of landscape buffers between the park and its residential neighbors.

During April, the Village Board authorized staff to apply for grant assistance for development of the park, and an application was submitted to the DNR in late April. The Village expects to learn later this summer, whether a grant will be received.
