
PAVING AND ROAD CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS
Paving and road construction season is now underway in the Village. Paving and road construction project areas this season include:
• 116th Street from Old Green Bay Road to 39th Avenue;
• Meadowdale Farms/Estates;
• Pleasant Homes;
• the I-94 water tower parking lot;
• Springbrook Innovation Center parking lot;
• Prairie Ridge retail center;
• the West I-94 Frontage Road between Highways Q and C; and
• Cooper Road between 85th and 93rd Streets.
Projects will generally include: pulverizing existing asphalt; grading the roadway; making structural adjustments; restoring curb and gutter or shoulder where applicable; and applying pavement markings.
PROJECT FUNDING
The projects listed here will be paid for by a variety of sources. Work on 116th Street will be paid for with dollars from the general fund budget (including savings from reduced debt payments). Work in the Meadowdale area will be paid for by a combination of special assessments to impacted property owners, developer funding and general fund dollars. Paving in Pleasant Homes and at the I-94 water tower will be paid for through the Water Utility. Work at Springbrook Innovation Center will be paid for by the Stormwater Utility and grant funding. Work in the Prairie Ridge retail center will be paid for by the developer. Work on the West I-94 Frontage Road will be paid for with funds from the TID #2 Budget. The Village received ARRA (federal) funds for work on Cooper Road.
