PRAIRIE FAMILY DAYS RETURNS ON SATURDAY, JULY 21
WITH AN EVENING FIREWORKS DISPLAY AND
A -NEW- LAKESIDE LOCATION INSIDE PRAIRIE SPRINGS PARK
Committee Seeks Crafters and Event Sponsors
All are invited to save the date and join us at Prairie Family Days in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin on Saturday, July 21. Prairie Family Days will take place at a new location inside Prairie Springs Park. This July, the grounds will move lakeside along the west side of RecPlex. "We're excited to test our new location between RecPlex and Lake Andrea," explained Carol Willke, a lead on the Prairie Family Days Committee. "We're thinking that the new locale will create an even more festive community dynamic for the families that attend."
Family entertainment planned includes: a kickoff parade; the acrobatic comedian Circus Boy; pontoon boat rides; a craft fair; bingo; live music; food vendors; an open skate in the ice arena followed by a skating exhibition; raffle drawings; and a nighttime fireworks display. Activities requiring advance registration include: a youth fishing derby; the Family Days 5K Walk/Run; the Princess Promenade (formerly known as the Princess Parade); and the Miss Pleasant Prairie scholarship pageant.
Visitors are also invited to meet a handful of Pleasant Prairie's businesses in the Made in Pleasant Prairie tent. Visitors can interact with the businesses to learn more about their corporate philosophy, company history and to learn what they make or do in Pleasant Prairie. The live music lineup for 2012 includes Creason Studios' Signature Strings, the Affordables, and Untrained Laymen. Food vendors will be on hand offering specialty menu items, such as funnel cakes, fried cheese curds, barbeque and more. Admission and several activities are free, though certain activities are fee based. A $5 parking fee will be charged inside the park after 4:00 p.m.
