PUBLIC SAFETY ALERTS AVAILABLE VIA TEXT OR EMAIL THROUGH NIXLE
Prior to the start of the winter weather season, the Village would like to remind residents of the ability to receive public safety alerts via text or email.
Pleasant Prairie uses a service called Nixle that allows public safety officials to send text messages to subscribers in the event of a public safety emergency such as: a missing child or person, police activity, evacuations, severe weather-related emergencies, and other dangerous situations. Snow Emergencies (times when two or more inches of snow have fallen and cars should not be parked on Village roads to enable safe snowplow operations) are also announced through Nixle.
In order to receive emergency text messages on your telephone, visit www.nixle.com and click the "Sign Up Now" button; then read and follow the directions you see there. Don't forget to reply "YES" to Nixle's text in order to receive emergency messages.
