On the afternoon of Thursday, April 19, the National Weather Service will conduct a statewide tornado drill in Wisconsin. The drill is being conducted as part of Wisconsin Tornado and Severe Weather Awareness Week, which takes place this year between April 16 and 20. On April 19 at 1:00 p.m., a mock tornado watch for all of Wisconsin will be issued, and at 1:45 p.m., a mock tornado warning for all of Wisconsin will be issued. The statewide drill should end by 2:00 p.m.
If actual severe weather occurs anywhere in the state on April 19, the statewide drill will be postponed until Friday, April 20 with the watch and warning being issued at the same times planned for the April 19 drill. More information about tornado safety is available by clicking "View PDF" below.
