NEW SENIOR LIFESTYLES DEVELOPMENT IN PLEASANT PRAIRIE MOVES FORWARD - WORK ON ASSISTED LIVING UNITS TO BEGIN THIS FALL
On Monday, September 8, the Pleasant Prairie Plan Commission considered and approved detailed plans for the first phase of a proposed senior living community to be built in the Prairie Ridge development. The company plans to create a senior community on 9-acres of vacant land on the south side of Prairie Ridge Boulevard, east of 97th Court and west of an existing senior apartment complex in Pleasant Prairie. The development will be named The Addison of Pleasant Prairie.
The first phase of the project calls for the construction of a three-story building that would offer 96 senior living (including memory care/assisted living) units and surface parking. Work on the first phase is expected to begin yet this fall. Phase II calls for the construction of a 66-unit senior housing facility with underground parking. No time frame has yet been established for the second phase of the project.
Amenities proposed as part of the project include: central dining facilities; a multi-purpose room; fitness center; a garden and patio; greenhouse; salon and therapy room; and an arts and crafts room. Plans call for resident services to include: meals, housekeeping, linen service, transportation, and social and recreational activities. If needed, supportive care and assisted living services are proposed to include: management of medications, bathing, dressing, toileting, ambulating, eating, and memory care.
Senior Lifestyle Corporation, based in Chicago, Illinois, first received approval for conceptual plans for the project in December of 2013. With the recent approval of more detailed plans, the project can now move forward. Senior Lifestyle Corporation operates more than 100 senior housing communities throughout 22 states.
