On March 3, the organization America’s Farmers Grow Communities presented a $2,500 donation from the Monsanto Fund to Pleasant Prairie Fire & Rescue on behalf of the Jay and Lisa Sorensen family. Under the program, eligible farmers in 1,289 counties throughout 39 states can enter to win a $2,500 donation to a non-profit of their choice. Jay Sorensen was the winner in Kenosha County and selected Pleasant Prairie Fire & Rescue to receive the donation.

Sorensen cited the work the department does to protect the people of Pleasant Prairie as his reason for choosing the Fire & Rescue Department. The Village and Pleasant Prairie Fire & Rescue wish to sincerely thank the Jay and Lisa Sorensen family, the Monsanto Fund and America’s Farmers Grow Communities for their donation.
