The Pleasant Prairie Police Department, in cooperation with the Kenosha County Division of Health Services and other area law enforcement agencies, is taking a proactive step to combat the abuse of prescription medication in our community by adding a new medication collection location in Pleasant Prairie.
Beginning in March, residents will be able to easily dispose of unused, unwanted or expired medication at the new medication drop box located in the lobby of the Pleasant Prairie Police Department at 8600 Green Bay Road.
By using the medication drop box, residents ensure that their medications will stay out of the hands of children, preventing an accidental poisoning and keeping the drugs out of the hands of teenage or other family members who could become addicted to the medications. Proper disposal also prevents the drugs from polluting our natural water resources.
Residents may drop items off at the Pleasant Prairie medication collection box 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Medication should be kept in its original container. Cross off any personal information on the container; place the container into a sealed bag; and dispose of it in the medication drop box.
