Thank you to those who visited Open Village Hall to read about the open burning of leaves, and thank you to those who took the time to share comments and/or support others’ comments. Initial review of the feedback indicates that many people have strong feelings and varying opinions about leaf burning.

Staff will use the feedback received in two ways: one, to draft a proposed amendment to the current open burning ordinance that will attempt to strike a balance between those who are in favor of leaf burning and those who are opposed; and two, to improve upon the collection services that are currently being provided. Staff will also be providing printed reports of the results to the Village Board for its consideration.

Once the draft amendment has been completed, it will be sent to the Board for its consideration. Please watch upcoming Village Board agendas, available by clicking here. Village meeting agendas are also posted at Village Hall, Pleasant Prairie RecPlex and the Roger Prange Municipal Center.
