The Village would like to thank those community members who joined us for a groundbreaking ceremony for the new park and ride facility being constructed this summer inside Prairie Springs Park. The groundbreaking took place on Monday, July 7 at 1:00 p.m. in the southeast corner of Prairie Springs Park (9900 Terwall Terrace, Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin).
The park and ride will be the first created in Kenosha County and was made possible through cooperative efforts with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Kenosha County and the Village of Pleasant Prairie. The lot will accommodate approximately 387 vehicles and is intended to promote and support carpooling opportunities. It will be paid for with a State Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality grant originally awarded to Kenosha County and funds from Pleasant Prairie’s TIF District #2.
Work on the park and ride is expected to be complete in mid-October barring any weather related delays. Prairie Springs Park is located approximately one mile east of Interstate 94 on State Highway 165.
