Earlier this year, the Village Board awarded a contract for microsurface projects to Fahrner Asphalt Sealers of Waunakee, Wisconsin in the amount of $377,424 and a contract for eight paving projects to Payne & Dolan of Waukesha in the amount of $665,596. Work on the projects began mid-June and has since been completed.
During 2014, four microsurface projects were completed in LakeView Corporate Park, and additional microsurfacing was completed on sections of 93rd Street and 104th Avenue. These microsurface maintenance projects are meant to seal/waterproof the upper layer of the roadway in order to extend the usable life of the roadway.
Ultra-thin paving was completed in the remaining half of the Prairie Ridge Subdivision. The ultra-thin paving is also meant to help weatherproof and protect the underlying road base.
Pulverizing and relay projects were completed on 86th Street and at the 57th Avenue water tower site. Pulverize and relay projects are completed when the existing asphalt is at the end of its useful life.
The Village staff and board would like to thank residents for their patience and consideration this road work season. The Village is currently planning for future road work as part of the 2015 budget and beyond.
