
PARATRIATHLETES WILL TRAIN IN LAKEVIEW CORPORATE PARK ON JUNE 8
DRIVERS ASKED TO BE ALERT AND CAUTIOUS BETWEEN 9 AND 11 AM
On Sunday, June 8, an expected 40 paratriathletes with Dare2Tri will be participating in a practice race on roads in LakeView Corporate Park between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. The Village is asking drivers to please be alert and use great care when traveling in the area on the morning of June 8.
Athletes will:
- exit Prairie Springs Park at Terwall Terrace and County Highway H,
- travel east on 95th Street,
- turn south on 80th Avenue,
- make a U-turn just north of State Highway 165,
- return north on 80th Avenue,
- turn west on 95th Street, and
- re-enter Prairie Springs Park at Terwall Terrace and County Highway H.
During the practice race, Pleasant Prairie Police Officers will be stationed at the intersections of Terwall Terrace and County Highway H and at 80th Avenue and 95th Street between approximately 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. Paratriathletes with Dare2Tri are training to participate in the 2014 Pleasant Prairie Triathlon being held on Sunday, June 22.
Dare2Tri Paratriathlon Club, based in Chicago and launched in 2011, serves youth, adults and injured service members of all skill levels and ages who have a physical disability, such as amputation, spinal cord injury, stroke, Spina Bifida, Cerebral Palsy, visual impairment or blindness. The club provides adaptive equipment, training opportunities, qualified coaching, and trained handlers and guides for participating athletes.
