The Pleasant Prairie Professional Police Association is seeking assistance with its 9th Annual Pleasant Prairie Shop with a Cop/Firefighter charity event, which will be held during the month of December. Shop with a Cop/Firefighter is a way to help local families who may not otherwise be able to celebrate the holidays in a traditional manner. Children from underprivileged families pair off with a Pleasant Prairie Police Officer or Firefighter and select gifts for their family members.
“This program is an excellent way for children to interact with emergency responders in a positive way,” explained Police Chief David Smetana. “More importantly though, the program enables struggling families within our community to share the joy of the holiday spirit. We’re proud to partner with volunteers from Great Lakes Naval Base again this year who will help the children wrap the gifts for their family members.”
The Pleasant Prairie Professional Police Association is now accepting donations in support of this year’s Shop with a Cop and Firefighter. 100% of every donation directly supports the Shop with a Cop/Firefighter event. Members of the department wish to sincerely thank all those who have been so generous in the past with support for this program.
Those wishing to donate may do so in person or by mail at the following address: Pleasant Prairie Professional Police Association; Shop with a Cop; 8600 Green Bay Road; Pleasant Prairie, WI 53158.
