On the afternoon of Thursday, April 24, the National Weather Service will conduct a statewide tornado drill in Wisconsin. The drill is being conducted as part of Wisconsin Tornado and Severe Weather Awareness Week, which takes place this year between April 21 and 25.
On April 24 at 1:00 p.m., a mock tornado watch for all of Wisconsin will be issued, and at 1:45 p.m., a mock tornado warning for all of Wisconsin will be issued. The statewide drill should end by 2:00 p.m.
If actual severe weather occurs anywhere in the state on April 24, the statewide drill will be postponed until Friday, April 25 with the watch and warning being issued at the same times planned for the April 24 drill. More information about tornado safety is available by clicking here.
